The GTAA (Greater Toronto Airports Authority) is the corporation who currently runs Pearson International Airport and subsidizes Buttonville Airport. The GTAA has prepared the Pickering Airport Draft Plan, at the request of Transport Canada, to outline the feasibility of building an airport on the Federal Lands in North Pickering. Its is the opinion of V.O.C.A.L. and many others that this airport plan is premature at best, and that the Draft Plan has omitted crucial information in an effort by the GTAA to gain control of the 11,200 acres of land in North Pickering.
