Statement of Beliefs 

We believe that the construction of an airport in Pickering will destroy the communities surrounding the site as we know them today.

   We believe that the sense of community and the unique culture that exists in the towns and hamlets of Ajax, Pickering, Stouffville, and all the surrounding areas will be lost forever if an airport is allowed to proceed.

    We believe that the excessive noise exposure from an airport is a public health hazard and is just as important as the air and water pollution that result from an airport.

    We believe that a new airport is not needed and the construction of a new airport would represent a tremendous waste of money and resources.

  We believe that our governments should have other priorities than an airport.

   We believe that many alternatives exist to constructing a new airport that are being ignored, or are not being pursued

   We believe that an airport development will promote even more urban sprawl.

   We believe that the true cost of an airport in Pickering cannot be measured in dollars alone.

    We believe that an airport will be operational in Pickering by 2012 despite the fact one is not needed.

    We believe this is a land grab of public property by the GTAA!  Why else would they apply for 11,200 acres when they need at the most 700.

  We believe we have 2 years to stop this project or we never will.

   We believe that good government should represent the constituents of a riding and their wishes.  Mark Holland in the new Pickering Ajax riding (which contains the proposed site) must decide whether he stands with his constituents or his party.  

   We believe you have to be VOCAL to be heard .

   Help us to influence those who are supposed to act in our interests.  Call your elected representatives at all levels of government and tell them you want them to oppose the airport development that will kill our communities. Thank you for your support.
